After nearly 50 years in transport planning, I decided at the end of October 2025 that the time was right to move on to the next chapter in life. I have been slowing down my wee company for some time, and that was the right time to stop.
I have been so, so fortunate to have been involved in a profession that I truly love and enjoy. Throughout all of this, I have been inspired and motivated by many amazing people, as fellow employees, as clients or as colleagues in design teams, and many in local authorities. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I have had to learn, laugh, and work towards where we all needed to be. There are too many people to name, but thank you all.
Experience has taught me that life is all too short, and can change very suddenly and unexpectedly. My plans for the future are just to enjoy life while I can, have some wee holidays with Fiona, and maybe take up some new interests to fill in the gaps between seeing friends or playing with old cars (or sometimes both at the same time).
